Task 4 - How did you use new media technology for the construction and research planning and evaluation stages?

Pre Production

In the pre-production process I used several different media technologies which allowed me to prepare for the music video.

I used the Internet for research and planning preparation with the use of Google search engine to aid me. Search engines are programs used for the retrieval of data, files, or documents from a database or network, especially the Internet. It allowed me to learn more about Placebo, their music, and the label she was signed. I was able to visit their website and research information about their target audience. I also used YouTube as a way of listening to their music and viewing their original music videos.



 I had also used mobile phone technology to record our process and planning. I used an iPhone 4 to digitally record. Using this technology meant that I could personally upload my thoughts and views and record how I thought our progress was going onto blogger. I could also take photographs of group work that we were going on paper such as brain storming and ming maps. My group and I also used mobile technology to take pictures of potential actors to use for casting.


Additionally in the pre-production process I created an animatic storyboard where I used Final Cut Pro software to piece together my animation and all the shots. This also prepared me for later in the year when i had to create my real music video.


Post Production

In our post production process i created a digipak cover using photoshop where i learned about layering photos and using effects to enhance colour. This media software helped to manipulate images to suit the style of the package promotion.
This annotates how i used photoshop to create my CD digipack.

 

In post production i also used Microsoft Powerpoint as a media tool to present my work onto blogger. Other presentation tools i used are things such as prezi.

We created our website on Wicks which helped us market our band and product and uploud soundcloud clips.

Whilst creating the music video we used film cameras to record the shots on the day, and flip cameras to take backstage videos of what was happening to uploud to our blog.
